Thirsty for a cup of espresso or cappuccino every morning? The aroma of coffee alone is inviting enough. Also, the unique coffee taste is so invigorating! People who are addicted to coffee can count on coffee makers to brew their favorite hot beverage every morning.

Coffee makers are more than just little machines—they can be an important and inevitable part of your mornings. Aside from that, these machines make it a lot easy for you to prepare your favorite coffee. Using a coffeemaker involves only a few basic steps: you scoop coffee powder and put it into the filter in the machine, pour some water, replace the lid, and turn on the device. Voila! The coffee maker starts heating up and gurgling to produce your steaming coffee.

Ever wondered what a coffee maker is made up of and what goes on inside it as it brews coffee? Surprisingly, a coffee maker is not a sophisticated gadget. Your pod coffee maker like Keurig coffee or Senseo coffee machine are easy to understand. At the top of a drip coffee maker, you can find a shower head, a white tube, and a reservoir. The white tube brings the hot water from the reservoir to the shower head, which holds a plastic disc with a hole (called the drip area). The drip area is where water is sprayed over the coffee grounds. Finally, the reservoir is the part where you pour the water that will be used for making coffee.

At the bottom portion of the coffee maker, you can also see simple parts comprising it. The bottom area is made up of a container with a hot-water tube, which gets the cold water from the opening in the reservoir. This tube is joined to the white tube at the coffee maker’s top part. Also, a power cord can be found at the bottom of the machine.

A heating element is located at the left side of the coffee maker’s base. The heating element consists of a resistive heating element and an aluminum tube where water passes through. These subcomponents increase the temperature of the water coming from the reservoir of the coffee maker.

How does a coffee maker function? After pouring water into the reservoir, the water goes through the hole and into the heating element’s tube. Then water goes slightly up through the white tube. When the machine is turned on, its heating element starts to warm the hot-water tube, which causes the water to boil. Bubbles go up into the white tube as the water boils. Then the water goes up the white tube and is sprayed to drip on the coffee grounds. The last step in the coffee making process is the contact of the hot water to the ground coffee beans and going down into the pot of the coffee maker.
Because you are now aware of how a coffee maker works, you will surely be amazed at how this simple gadget can make coffee in a matter of minutes.
