Are you addicted to coffee like I am? Do you have to have your first cup of coffee before you brain starts to work or before you actually say hello to anyone? I bought a Keurig coffee maker last winter and I absolutely love it. In the morning, I just stumble to the kitchen, put a K-Cup in the maker, press it down and out comes a hot cup of coffee in about 30 seconds (provided I remember to fill up the maker with water recently!).

Even though I love this convenience, I started to realize how expensive this luxury was. It was costing me almost $1 per cup of coffee and since I usually have two cups before work, I found it was really expensive. In fact, at $2 per morning, I could almost stop at Starbucks for a cup.

So, while I was not willing to give up either my morning elixir or the convenience of my coffee K-Cup, I decided I needed to find a less expensive source for these little coffee pleasures. I did a bunch of research and this is what I found on how to buy cheap K Cups:

Online retailers, both large ones like Amazon and small coffee specialty shops, seem to have the best pricing on K-Cups. Because they publish their prices on line and have lower overhead without a store front, they appear to be able to offer their coffee a cheaper cost. Remember, though to factor in shipping and handling to figure your entire unit cost.

The next cheapest coffee K-Cup deals appear to be at Sam’s club and Costco. These may actually be easier for many users that are already shopping at these warehouse stores.

I hate to suggest it, but you can often save money by changing the brand of coffee that you drink. Some of the premium coffees will cost as much as $1.25 per K-Cup, where discount coffees can be less than $0.50 per cup. Many of these discount coffees also have high satisfaction ratings from people that have tried them.

Buying bulk may seem obvious, but when you are purchasing K-Cups, buy the largest count that they sell. Many manufactures will sell 100-150 count packs which will cut your per unit cost in half. Plus since the coffee in a K Cup will stay fresh for a long time, don’t worry too much about having a couple month supply around.

Doing your research and shopping around is a great way to find cheap K Cups.

If you thought I was going to pull a gag on you then you had the wrong idea about this post, Sirs and Madams. Rather than tell you some weird stuff about how you can get the best ground coffee from a packed set of beans shipped fresh from the exotic lands of wherever and risk sounding cookie, I'm going to do something that will make you very happy as one of my readers. I'm going to tell you the easiest way you can grind your coffee fresh without having to buy a device that you will only use once and then throw away. The impatient ones are already guessing the big secret on this one, and here it is – speed blender. A high speed blender will make you life easy in ways that you can't even imagine. Good coffee is just the icing on the cake.

Most high speed blenders that are available in the market today are great at grinding coffee and doing everything imaginable under the sun. I've personally used my own Vita Mix 1300 TurboBlend 4500 to make some soup – just pour in some hot water, add your veggies , sprinkle in some salt, pepper and seasoning and you're good to go! You'll end up with a pretty decent soup made in less than 2 minutes – beat that Top Ramen guy!

Fresh ground coffee tastes very different from the usual packaged drinking coffee that is available in the market in sachets and the like. While you may have heard connoisseurs and higher mortal talk of the heightened aroma and the change in the acidity of the coffee (and probably dismissed it as baloney) let me tell you that the truth really is so. And with good reason. When coffee is finely ground, it releases oils into the milk and water which gives it it's string taste and flavor.

The wide selection of coffee machines out in today's market might cause you some confusion when it comes to purchasing, even if you thought you were well-educated on coffee machines. The variety of brands and designs can be mind-boggling on its own, but when you add to that decisions between a standard machine, a semi-automatic one, an automatic one, a super-automatic one, and so on, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that are you simply selecting a machine to make your life easier and brew you a cup of coffee at home.

Did you know that filter coffee machines and espresso machines are different? And do you know which would one would best suit your needs? Yes, both machines brew coffee, but there can be a significant difference between the relative taste and quality of the brews. The standard filter machine is comprised of a water reservoir, a carafe, and a filter. The more complex espresso machine boasts a special device which drives steam into the coffee pot. The espresso machine's filter is metal, and its more complex filtering system will produce a stronger and richer brew than the often diluted and weak coffee produced by a standard filter coffee machine.

The two machines are also made and used for two completely different kinds of coffee. The standard filter machine can accommodate any variety of widely available ground coffee, and as such is most often used by those who don't particularly care about the quality of their coffee. On the other hand, the automatic espresso machine brews espresso ground coffee, a much stronger coffee capable of producing a rich and potent quality brew.

There is a difference in price that you have to be aware of, but it is the typical difference in price between higher and lower quality items. Even though you can buy a comparatively expensive filter coffee machine for less than an average espresso machine, you will notice the difference in the quality of your coffee. The strong, aromatic cup of coffee that the espresso machine will brew for you just might be a welcome upgrade to your morning.

The humble kettle. Surely there's nothing interesting to discover about the thing that boils water, and nothing else?

Wrong.

Kettles are far from universal across the world. In the USA, stovetop kettles are far more common than electric kettle thanks to the voltage of the mains supply. In the UK, the reverse is true, and powerful 300 Watt kettles boil liters of water in a minute or so. In Asia and Israel, kettles are less popular than electric water boilers, which have started to be introduced in the West by Tefal's Quick Cup system.

Kettles can also be used to produce an impromptu, if possibly unsafe, steamroom. If the thermostat isn't allowed to turn the kettle off (perhaps by holding down the power switch), an electric kettle will fill a reasonable-sized room with steam in minutes. (Don't try this at home).

The word "Kettle" is derived from the Latin "catillus". Interestingly, that's also the name of one of the heroes of Roman legend, who drove off the Sicillians and founded the city of Tibur, presumably before a nice cup of tea. Originally "Catillus" just means "small bowl".

The "fish kettle" harks back to the original Roman definition, and doesn't have very much to do with boiling water. It's a very long, thin pot with a tightly-sealed lid (about a meter long, often) and a perforated grill on which fish can be placed. Generally it's used for cooking anything up to a whole salmon, which can be steamed in the device - one of the few ways in a domestic kitchen to cook a very large fish.

It's still possible to buy a "whistling kettle", a stovetop kettle with a built-in whistle. When the water starts to boil and the steam pressure builds up it emits a piercing whistle, signalling it's time for tea. English TV shows of the 60s - 80s will often show this device as a central part of English life.

The search for the perfect freshly brewed cup of Joe is prompting many coffee lovers to check out automatic grind and brew coffee makers.

These trendy small appliances are increasingly being found in cucinas and kitchens around the globe. While based on commercial grind and brew machines, they have a smaller footprint and some top-of-the-line models routinely win coveted design awards.

But, on the most basic level, these bean to cup machines (as the British refer to them) are a combination of coffee maker and integrated grinder. Of course, there are other high-end models that feature milk frothers, touchscreen displays, atomic clocks and automatic cleaning systems.

But the big selling point is variety -- a wide variety of coffee based beverages on demand, at the touch of a button. Like the standard automatic coffeemaker, a grind and brewer can deliver the basic steaming hot cup of black coffee. But that's just the beginning for these appliances. Depending on the model, they can create espressos, lattes, cappuccinos or cremas. Not to mention hot chocolate, and even tea.

Of course, all the bells and whistles add to the price tag. For higher end models, you can expect to pay four figures. Entry level models, however, generally start around $100 with deep discounts frequently available online. Take time to educate yourself about grind and brew machines before making a purchase. Many people have found mid-level machines to meet all their specific coffee brewing needs while being easier on the pocketbook.

To get an idea of what's possible with these machines, check out companies such as Jura, Capresso, Bodum, Gaggia, Bosch, Siemens and Saeco. Their products range from manual to semi-automatic to fully automatic.

While grind and brew coffee makers may not be for everyone, they are enabling a growing number of coffee fans to experience a wider variety of freshly brewed beverages at home, on demand.

Brewing a perfect cup of coffee is not magic. There are some specific things you should keep in mind when you are brewing. The type of coffee you use is the starting point. Everyone has a favorite type of rich, aromatic coffee blend that works for them. This is always superior to the flat, boring taste of instant coffee. Water used to make coffee comes next. Fresh, clean water imparts a fresh flavor to coffee, which is why most coffee makers come with a built-in water filter. The importance of a clean coffee maker and carafe cannot be stressed enough if you want to avoid a stale hint to your coffee. Apart from the brewing bit, what you drink your coffee out of makes a difference too.

One of the most preferred materials for coffee mugs is porcelain. They do not leech out flavor or chemicals into the drink, and thus preserve the flavor of your coffee. As long as porcelain mugs do not use glazes to create designs, they are pretty safe to use and easy to buy.

A safe and equally good alternative to porcelain mugs is glass mugs. They do not insulate as effectively, but as long as you can have your coffee free of chemicals, it’s a small drawback. Besides, who does not like to see the deep, rich, color of coffee in the transparent mug before them?

Stainless steel coffee cups are good too. Some say that they give coffee a bit of a metallic taste. Their main advantage is that they do not break when accidentally dropped. Also, most mugs have an insulated design that helps keep your coffee warm longer. Some even come with lids that prevent spilling, (almost as well as cup holders) and keep your coffee warm.

Plastic, Styrofoam and Paper are materials that should not be used for making coffee mugs. The chemicals they are made of will leak into your drink, if it is adequately hot. In addition to a poor coffee flavor, you also expose your health to risks. These cups are bad for the ecological health of the planet as well. Plus, they do not fare well in a wheelchair cup holder.

Did you know that something called coffee residue that clings to mugs can also affect the taste of your coffee? To prevent this, clean your mugs regularly. Stained mugs may be quite a challenge for plain soap and water. Not so for vinegar. Pour some into your mug and let it sit. When vinegar has done its work, your mug will look as good as new. Vinegar is natural and non-toxic and, thus, safer than chlorine-based cleansers.

Perhaps the choice of coffee mugs may not be as important in determining coffee taste as the type of coffee used. But, for someone who wants to achieve perfection, every little bit counts.

Post provided by Home and Garden Co.

Home espresso machines are a great alternative to more traditional coffee maker options. Espresso is the base of most of the specialty drinks that are served at popular coffee shops today. An espresso machine will enable anyone to create these drinks at home with little effort and at a cost of less than a dollar per serving. For those who regularly visit expensive coffee shops, these machines quickly pay for themselves and end up saving a great deal of money in the long run.

While ensuring that the machine is functioning properly is a big part in making the perfect drink, there are other things that anyone can do to make delicious cups of coffee even with inexpensive equipment. The first component to good espresso is the bean. To get the distinctive bitter taste, make sure that you select a very dark roast. While there is no need to grind your own beans, you should get the best quality coffee that you can afford. High quality coffee will produce a strong, nuanced flavor that elevates coffee house drinks above those that are made at home. Even those that do not consider themselves coffee experts will be surprised at the difference between specialty and grocery store blends.

Another step in replicating specialty drinks at home is through foam or flavor shots. Even if your home espresso machine does not come with a built in milk steamer, it is possible to get this effect with nothing more than a saucepan and a stovetop. Keep in mind that most coffee shops use whole milk unless otherwise requested, so using milk with a higher fat content will produce richer foam. Flavor shots, such as caramel, mocha or vanilla are now sold in bottles at most large grocery stores. Adding just a spoonful to your espresso will immediately transform your drink into something special.

Easy to use espresso machines ensure that anyone can make fancy, specialty coffee drinks at home.

Many people will tell you, and this is undoubtedly true, that instant coffee is a far cry compared to brewed coffee, and this by miles and miles. Instant coffee is a poor imitation of the real thing, and is consumed only when there isn’t a proper coffee shop or coffee machine around. In some cases, coffee lovers have no choice if their doctor has forbidden properly brewed coffee from the menu.

There are huge numbers of coffee drinkers around the world who swear that the strong espresso is the best brew around for the perfect caffeine fix. If you are among this number, it will be a sure bet that you have tried to learn the secret of making the perfect espresso at home.

If you don’t have time, or are dreading the multi-step process it takes to create a strong and flavorful cup full of espresso goodness, it will be a good idea to try espresso pods to recreate your favorite brew. Espresso pods look like tea bags, only they are filled with the exact amount of ground coffee to create the precise taste of your preferred espresso blend. Quite unlike having to grind, measure, pat your own coffee, you simply put an espresso pod into your espresso machine, and within a minute or so, you will be sitting down and sipping a delicious two-ounces of strong espresso.

To get this exact effect, make sure your espresso machine is has been fitted with a special adapter for your espresso pods. While these special espresso machines can be pricier than the regular kind, you will get good usage out of them for a long time, while enjoying your espresso anytime you want it. Luckily, espresso pods are available everywhere coffee is sold, and they are relatively inexpensive to make it easier for you to get your espresso fix.

Everyone agrees that nothing beats a hot cup of delicious coffee in the morning. It gives you that extra boost of energy to kick off your day the right way and, if made right, it can be absolutely delicious. The best solution is to own your very own grind and brew coffee maker!
Nothing quite beats the taste of freshly ground coffee beans. Well, that is something you get to experience everyday with a grind and brew coffee machine! All you need to do is add your favorite bean flavor and as much cold water as you think you will need, press the start button and take care of making your breakfast and getting your things together for the day.
There is one little catch to the deal. Obviously something that gets dirty every day needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. So if you know you will not have enough time to clean a machine that has too many parts, you should always make sure that you know how much will need cleaned so you do not try to make yourself a cup of joe only to find that your little miracle maker just became your little mess maker.
So, no matter what style, size or shape you can always be sure that there is the best grind and brew coffee machine for your kitchen!
