Bialetti Venus Stainless Steel Stovetop Coffee Maker 4-Cup is a stainless steel version of the stovetop espresso coffeemaker first patented by the Italian Alfonso Bialetti in 1933. His company still produces the most commonly used moka pot in Europe. Mokas, which can be electrical or stovetop, come in different sizes from 1-cup to 12-cups. It’s important to remember that to Europeans, an espresso “cup” is a 2-oz. measure. A 12 cup capacity is really only equivalent to three 8 oz. cups. ROASTe recommends that its customers purchase at least 1 size larger Bialetti than they think they need; our customers have been happiest with the larger Bialettis to compensate for the small European-sized cup measurements.
